Camp Hunt and Community Spirit

Camp Hunt Staff in front of the High Adventure Bus.

Jason and Rene Eborn

In the spirit of Scouting, the Camp Hunt staff played a large part in the 1st Annual Bear Lake Marathon this year. The staff volunteered at each aid station on the route and they also helped at the start and finish lines. As many camp staff's do, they added spirit and fun to each station -- giving the runners more energy to keep going.
The Camp Hunt Staffers received many compliments throughout the day. The Marathon Coordinators were very pleased with their work and would like to have them back next year. Below is a thank you posted on their site:

Trappers Council at Camp Hunt: we couldn't have done it without the many volunteers from Camp Hunt. For first time marathon volunteers they did GREAT! We look forward to doing it again next year.

Camp Hunt Director, Jason Eborn, ran the full Marathon. The staff decided to run the last bit of the route with him. A tribute to what a great leader he is!

Thanks Camp Hunt for the positive community service!

Summer kick-off at Bartlett

11 year old Scouts came from near and far to enjoy an overnighter at Camp Bartlett. The weather didn't cooperate too well. Between the intermittent snowfall and the muddy trails they still seemed to have fun. They rotated through stations to earn their Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class.
Along with advancements, the boys were able to take part in two flag ceremonies, get to know their troop better, learn to cook and enjoy the time in the mountains.

Family Camp/Wood Badge Preparations

Jennifer Erickson and Rich Hyer

It wasn't the warmest of conditions but the group of people gathered at Camp Bartlett on Saturday June 7 was warm as ever. The Family Camp and Wood Badge Staffs worked together to help prepare the best week of activities and training ever for the participants.
The Trapper Trails Council will hold their 4th annual Family Camp/Wood Badge Week at Camp Bartlett, July 28 - August 2, 2008. Much work and effort goes into planning this week. Saturday was just the tip of the iceberg.
Thanks so much to all who put endless hours of planning and working.
We're looking forward to the best year yet!
